How To Configure SpamAssassin in cPanel

Enabling SpamAssassin feature

  • Log into your cpanel, usually accessed by https://yourdomain.com:2082 (change yourdomain.com with yours)
  • Go to the menu SpamAssassin.
  • View the “Spam Assassin is currently ….. “If the status is Enabled, then spamassassin been active, if Disabled, then simply click Enable SpamAssassin to enable the feature.
  • Change Detection Level and Enable Auto Delete SpamAssassin Spam
    • In the menu on cpanel SpamAssassin, see the Filters section, there is a selection box “score” of the range of numbers 1-10. The lower the score (1), the more “Aggressive” in tracking e-mail spam, so the possibility of e-mail that is not spam will also be read as spam.And the higher the score (max 10), it will be weaker and detect e-mail spam.
    • Still on the Filters section, there are Auto-Delete Spam button, click it if you want SpamAssassin to immediately delete the e-mail that indicated the spam without the need to go first to the spam folder / inbox.

    Blacklist / Whitelist specific e-mail address

    • On the menu SpamAssassin in cpanel, click the “Configure SpamAssassin” to enter the blacklist / whitelist e-mail.
    • Enter the email you want to block / blacklist manually on blacklist_from, and enter the email you want to allow / whitelist manually whitelist_from.
    • To be able to fill it with a per email account (eg [email protected] ), or it could be a domain (eg * @ anydomain.com ).
